Head of Tarjoman-e Vahy Cultural Institute announced that all of the criticisms on translations of the Holy Quran will be collected and published in the form of a book in 5 languages.

Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Naqdi told IQNA that the decision was made in line with supporting the various translations of the Divine Book.

Some 1500 criticisms have been collected so far and the institute has published those written in the Persian language, he added.

Hojat-ol-Islam Naqdi said that a collection of articles published on Quran translation in various magazines will also be published in the near future including a criticism by Martyr Mortaza Motahhari on the translation of the Holy Quran made by late Abolqasem Payandeh.

The criticism had previously published in Yaghma Magazine about 20 years before the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

The collection will also include discussions on principles of Quran translation and challenges faced by translators of the Holy Quran.

The head of the institute noted that the work will be very helpful for translators, interpreters and researchers as well as university students in preparing their thesis.

The Institute has a collection of 5600 volumes of Quran translations into 145 languages from among which about 100 volumes are translations of the entire Quran and the rest include translations of some chapters and Surahs.
