All roads lead to the historical settlement of Badibbou Salikenni in the Gambia, where thousands of Muslims will converge for the annual Ziyara, organised by the community of Salikenni.

It is slated for Saturday 1st March 2014. This annual Quranic recitation commonly known as 'Al-Quran-karongo' in Mandinka has been observed for the past 15 years.
The Badibbou Salikenni 'Al-Quran-karongo,' started during the Imamship of the late Ebrima Ceesay of the said village. During his time, it was observed every three months, but gradually the gathering extended to a big event, which is now observed annually.
The gathering has now attracted thousands of Muslims from The Gambia and the sub-region. During the event, the recitation of the Holy Quran is done in the morning and at night religious leaders preach the teachings of Islam, among others. This year's event, according to organizers, would also witness the laying of the foundation stone of a modern mosque.
