According to Buratha news agency, more than 150 publication centers and institutes from 10 countries are attending the exhibition organized in cooperation with the Shia Awqaf Office in Iraq.
Faeq Al-Shemri, in charge of the information office of the holy shrine, said that the 6th edition of Najaf international book fair has witnessed a significant increase in the number of participants and the presented books compared to the previous editions.
He added that the exhibition hosts representatives from Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Jordan, Libya, Morocco, the US, Britain and a number of Persian Gulf countries.
It was opened in a ceremony with the participation of Allameh Seyyed Mohammad Bahr-ul-Ulum, eminent scholar in the holy city of Najaf, Sheikh Ziyauddin Zainuddin, custodian of Imam Ali’s (AS) holy shrine, Ali Khuzair Hajji, head of the organizing committee of the book fair and Abdul Sahib Khuwam, member of the official council of the holy shrine.
Some 150000 book titles have been presented at the exhibition which will run until March 16.
