Representatives from various Muslim countries will compete in the event’s recitation and memorization categories, Fars news agency reported.
The Islamic Republic of Iran will be represented by Seyyed Mohammad Kermani in the recitation category and Hassan Soleymani in memorization.
Last year, Iran’s Quran reciter Seyyed Mostafa Husseini came third in the recitation category of the event.
The 5th international Quran contest in Kuwait will run for six days.
Winners of the top titles in the international Quranic program will be awarded a cash prize of 20,000 Kuwaiti dinars.
