Around 14,000 Muslims in the Central African Republic (CAR) are under siege and in dire conditions in town of Boda as the UN calls for a relief package to aid the impoverished country.

According to a new report published on Friday, the country’s Christian militia has encircled the Muslim population to only one of the districts of the southwestern town.
Muslims from nearby villages have also flocked to the diamond hub after they were attacked in their own homes by the anti-Balaka.
Any Muslim who is caught wandering outside the 575 meter perimeter will be lynched by rebels who have tightly restricted all movement, the report added.
Men, women and children are constantly battling with severe food shortages and acute malnutrition.
Meanwhile, the United Nations has called for a USD 274-million relief package to fund emergency aid for mostly Muslim residents of the CAR.
Deadly sectarian violence in the CAR began last December when Christian militias started a campaign of violence against the mostly Muslim Seleka group, who had ousted the Western-backed government in the country, and the general Muslim population across the nation.
The troubled country is currently in the midst of a massive humanitarian crisis.
More than 200,000 people have so far fled the African country as refugees.
