Mosayyeb Jafari, director general of the Quran, Prayers and Etrat Department of the ministry, made the remark in an interview with IQNA, adding that the plan will be implemented with a new form in the next academic year (starting in September).
He said that based on the thematic memorization style, certain verses are selected for students in different age groups for learning by heart.
According to the official, a number of books meant to help the students memorize the verses have been written by Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Javad Beheshti and will be published by the ministry.
He added that along with the thematic memorization, learning the Holy Quran’s Juzes (one of its sections) will also continue to be on agenda.
The National Quran Memorization Plan got underway three years ago after the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution urged for training ten million Quran memorizers in the country.
