Azan Recitation Contest Held in Kazan

A contest of azan recitation was conducted in “Marjani” mosque of Kazan, the press service of Tatarstani Myftiyat reports.

The youngest competitor was 6 years old and the oldest - 62. The total number of participants was 50. The contest consisted of three age categories: 10-15

year olds, 15- 20 year olds and older than 20 years. The event was organized by the Spiritual Administration of Tatarstan Muslims and Kazan muhtasibats.

The jury consisted of the deputy mufti of Tatarstan Rustem Khairullin, Imam- muhtasib of Kazan Mansur Dzhalyaletdinov, a member of the State Council of Tatarstan Farid Miftahov and hafizs of Quran.

The winner was the 25-year-old Mudaris Gimranov of Sabinskii district. He also became the winner in the category over 20 years. In the category of 15-20 years, the first place was given to Marcel Ibragimov. The third category winner was Ilyas Halkin (“Bilal” Mosque, Kazan).

All participants were given diplomas and gifts.
