The French Council of Muslims condemned the anti-Islamic measures taken by Boko Haram terrorist group in Nigeria.

Issuing a statement, the council especially denounced the group's abduction of schoolgirls, describing it as an insult to Islamic teachings.
Abdullah Zikri, head of the council, in an interview with AFP said the abduction of the girls is proof that the group is totally unaware of the tenets of Islam, which strictly forbid such actions.
He underlined that the actions and behaviors of the Boko Haram members have nothing to do with the teachings of Islam.
Zikri also called on political and religious officials of Muslim countries to condemn Boko Haram's actions.
The grand mosque of Paris also issued a statement in which it described the abduction of schoolgirls in Nigeria as barbaric.
Dalil Bubakr, director of the mosque, said Boko Haram's crimes have Muslims and those who adhere to human and Islamic values.
In mid-April, Boko Haram committed mass abduction of teenage schoolgirls from Chibok school in northeastern Borno state, of whom 276 remain missing after 53 escaped.
Boko Haram, whose name means Western education is forbidden, says its goal is to overthrow the Nigerian government.
The group has claimed responsibility for a number of deadly gun and bomb attacks in various parts of Nigeria since 2009.
Over the past four years, violence in the north of Africa’s most populous country has claimed the lives of 3,600 people, including killings by the security forces.
