A prominent Lebanese Quran expert said with help from the Islamic Republic of Iran, Quranic activities have significantly developed in Lebanon.

"It is a great honor for us to have benefited from the achievements of Iran's Islamic Revolution, the most important of which is the spread of Quranic activities," Hussein Hamdan told the International Quran News Agency.

He said that Lebanon, with the help of Iranian Quranic experts, has trained good Quran reciters who represent Lebanon in international Quranic events.
The eminent Quran reciter added that his best memories related to Quanic activities belong to the time of his presence in Iran.
"In 2008 and 2012 I attended Iran's international Holy Quran competition as a member of the jury panel," he noted, adding that the international Quran contest annually held in Iran demonstrates the brilliance of the country in the field of Quranic activities.
"As a Quranic country, Iran judiciously implements many Quranic activities and (among other activities) invites lots of countries every year to take part in its Quran competition," he stated.
This year's edition of Iran's International Quran Competition is slated to be held in the capital Tehran from May 26 to June 2 with the participation of Quran reciters and memorizers from nearly 70 countries.
The Lebanese Quranic figure praised Iran for its efforts to promote Quranic activities and hoped that other Muslim countries would follow suit and work for the promotion of Quranic teachings.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Hamdan referred to his Quranic activities and said he started recitation and teaching of the Quran some 25 years ago at Lebanon's Quran Association.
He said he had interactions with the famous Muslim world reciters including Abolainain Shoaisha, Sheikh Muhammad Raf'at, Mustafa Esmail, Shahat Muhammad Anwar and Sheikh Abdul Basit Abdul Samad and learned a lot from them.
