Quran Contest Planned for Qatari Children

Registration of Qatari children for “Sheikh Jasim bin Muhammad bin Thani” national Quran memorization, recitation and interpretation contest will begin at June 1.


According to Al-Arab newspaper, the contest will be organized by the country’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.

Registration for children’s section of the contest will continue until June 5.

Qatari children aged ubelow 13 and children of non-Qatari residents aged below 9 can register for the contest.

The participants will compete on memorization of one Juz’ (part) from among the last five Juzes of the Holy Quran.

Seyyed Naser bin Yusuf Al-Saliti, head of the organizing committee of the contest said that new categories have been included in the contest and participants will also compete on recitation and interpretation of the Holy Quran.

Those who will compete in the children section are not allowed to register for other categories of the contest.
