Muhammad Nasser Umran told IQNA that Quran reciters, memorizers, interpreters and other activists in Quranic fields should inform Muslims about the threats posed by extremist groups.
"Today, extremist and terrorist groups spread radical ideas in the name of Islam," he warned, adding that raising Muslims' awareness will help to prevent the spread of such ideas.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Tanzanian Quran activist who has attended the 22nd international Holy Quran Exhibition in Tehran, described the Islamic Republic of Iran as a pioneering country in Quranic fields and praised Iran's organization of international Quran competitions, festivals and exhibits.
He said no other Islamic country holds a Quran exhibition as magnificent as the one mounted in Tehran during the holy month of Ramadan every year.
Umran said holding such Quranic programs helps to enhance interactions among Quran activists from different Muslim country.
He also touched on the Quranic activities in his home country in Ramadan and said numerous Quranic programs, competitions and exhibitions are held in Tanzania during the holy month.
