Speaking in a cabinet session on Sunday, Rouhani said the government and the foreign ministry of Iran, as a revolutionary country and head of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) will back the defenseless Palestinian people with all its power.
He said what matters more than the wide-ranging air and ground offensive against the people of Gaza is the world silence over this huge catastrophe and the fact that countries laying claim to civilization have remained indifferent to this "state terrorism".
The president stressed that the Zionists have created the human catastrophe in Gaza with baseless pretexts.
He regretted that western countries and many Arab and Muslim states have either remained silent or done little in the face of the tragedy.
This comes as bloodshed is continuing in Gaza for the 13th straight day as there is no let-up to the Zionist regime's onslaught on the blockaded enclave.
According to figures provided by Palestinian emergency services, the total number of Gazans killed since the beginning of the Israeli military operations against Gaza on July 8 stands at 504. More than 3,000 people have also been injured in the attacks.
The Zionist regime military has confirmed that 18 soldiers were killed in the conflict.
