Bahrain's Shia leader Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Qassem criticized stance of some Arab countries vis-à-vis the grave situation in the Gaza Strip.

Addressing Friday prayers worshippers in Manama, Ayatollah Qassem said the way certain Arab governments treat the Zionist regime's aggression on Gaza is a disgrace, al-Wassat daily reported.
He referred to the International Quds Day, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, and said most Arab countries have forgotten about the occasion.
The senior cleric underlined the need for reviving the International Quds Day and the important status of the holy city of Quds and al-Aqsa Mosque.
He added that the Quds Day is more important this year than previous years because of the atrocities committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza.
Imam Khomeini (RA) in August 1979 declared the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan as International Quds Day, calling on Muslims across the world to mark the annual occasion by holding street rallies.
Since then, people around the world hold rallies on this day in a show of support for the people of Palestine, demanding an end to the Zionist regime's occupation of Palestinian lands.
Yesterday, too, the International Quds Day was observed in Iran and many other countries where people took to the streets to reiterate their support for the people of Palestine and denounce the Zionist regime's atrocities against the Palestinian people.
This year's Quds Day rallies come against the backdrop of a massive Israeli onslaught on the besieged Gaza Strip.
The Zionist regime's offensive on Gaza, which started on July 8, has left almost 850 Palestinians killed and over 5,000 other injured.
