Egypt's Al-Ahram Arabic language daily ran a story recently about one of its journalists who set out on a journey to Iran to find the "Shia Quran".

Unsurprisingly, though, Muhammad Shamroukh found no such thing.
What made Shamroukh think the Quran Shias read is different from the Quran read by other Muslims was the anti-Shia and anti-Iran propaganda by those who seek to foment discord among Muslims for whatever reason.
The first place he looked for a Quran different from the one all Muslims believe is the Word of God was at Tehran's Imam Khomeini (RA) airport upon his arrival.
He took a copy of the Quran from the shelf at the airport's prayers room and started reading.
"I expected to see different Surahs (chapters) or verses. That was what I thought to be the case given what I had read online about Iranian Shias."
But he found no difference.  He later visited various mosques in Tehran and Isfahan and inspected copies of the Quran carefully coming to realize that the Quran Shias read is exactly the same Quran all Muslims read.
He soon recognized that what is said in Egypt and other Arab countries about the existence of a different Quran among Shias is nothing but baseless propaganda aimed at creating an anti-Iran atmosphere in these countries and fomenting discord and disunity among Islamic schools of thought.
