Quran Memorization Competition Held in Pakistan

A national competition on memorization of the Holy Quran was held in Islamabad, capital city of Pakistan.

 According to baab website, 1800 male and female memorizers of the Holy Quran participated in the two sections of the competition.

It was organized by the International Association of Quran Memorization in cooperation with the representative office of the Muslim World League in Pakistan.
International Islamic University of Islamabad hosted the competition held in the presence of Mamnoon Hussain, Pakistani President, Abdulaziz bin Ibrahim Al-Ghadir, Saudi ambassador to Pakistan, Ahmad Yusuf Al-Darwish, chancellor of the university and a number of Quran activists of the country.
Memorization of the Quran along with qira’at al-ashr, memorization of Quran and “Riyadh Al-Saliheen” (a famous Hadith collection), memorization of Quran and “Muqaddimah Al-Jazariyyah” (on Tajweed principles), memorization of Quran and the concept of Quranic terms, and Quran memorization for children were the categories of the competition.
