The institute has cooperated with two key Islamic cooperatives in holding World HAPEX 2014 at the Prince of Songkla University’s international conference hall in Hat Yai between October 30 and November 2.
Through the event, the institute is aiming to develop southern Thailand into a regional hub of halal products and services and encourage existing producers to promote the popularity of their goods in both Muslim and non-Muslim markets. The institute also hopes for more cooperation between organizations of halal producers and other government and private units which can lead to future co-working in the development of national economic, social and cultural issues.
The upcoming HAPEX 2014 will include not only Muslim food stalls, but also exhibitions of local Muslim clothes and accessories, and other products used in daily life of residents in the five southern border provinces.
