New York’s ‘Jews Against Islamophobia’ coalition has sent a powerful message against anti-Muslim rants in a new video, rejecting the increasing racism in the media as well as Islamophobic ads on subways and buses.

This video goes along with a new project of Jewish Voice for Peace, called the JVP Network Against Islamophobia.
“We are so pleased to share with you our new, very short video–Jews Recommit to Standing Against Islamophobia,” the announcement reads.
“While we have all been rightly concerned about the recent Islamophobic ads on NYC subways and buses, we recognize that Islamophobia extends far beyond those ads, and wanted to make that reality more visible within our community–the Jewish community– and more broadly.
We hope those watching the video will become inspired to take action together with the many, many individuals and groups inside and outside the Muslim community organizing against Islamophobia and standing for peace, for justice, and for dignity for all peoples,” the message concludes.
A recent report by the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the University of California and Berkeley's Center for Race and Gender found that Islamophobia in the US is on the rise.
A US survey had also revealed that the majority of Americans know very little about Muslims and their faith.
A recent Gallup poll had found that 43 percent of Americans Nationwide admitted to feeling at least “a little” prejudice against Muslims.
