The 2nd exhibition of Karbala’s Cultural Heritage Center opened on October 10 at Bain-ul-Haramain (between the two holy shrines) region of the holy city in Iraq.

According to Al-Kafeel website, the opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by Sayyed Ahmad Al-Safi, custodian of Hazrat Abbas’s (AS) holy shrine and a number of religious and cultural figures from different provinces of Iraq.

The exhibition introduces religious and cultural heritage of the holy city of Karbala via photos, documentaries, manuscripts, etc.

Sayyed Ihsan Al-Gharifi, director of the center, said that holding the exhibition is an annual program of the center which in fact is a competition to provide supporting documents for the city’s photos, books, manuscripts and audio-visual files.

Establishment of religious and civilized identity of the holy city of Karbala and preserving the city’s heritage is the main objective of the exhibition, he added.

Tableaus of artworks, photography, historical and religious works of the city, biography of great figures, activities of the center and cultural and religious heritage of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine have been put on display in various sections of the exhibition.

The center plans to launch an information bank of the holy city’s history and civilization and to bridge the gap between older and younger generations in this country.
