All public universities in Turkey are planned to have a mosque in the near future.

Mehmet Gormez, president of Turkey’s Religious Affairs Department (Diyanet) said that currently mosques are being built in more than 80 universities in the country, Le Faigaro reported.
He added that in 2015, mosques in 50 universities will be ready to accommodate worshippers.
Gormez said the mosques will serve as places in which young students will feel the love for God in their hearts.
“We attach great importance to university mosques,” the Turkish official underlined, adding that construction of mosques in universities will revive spirituality in universities as well as in the society.
Although Turkey is a secular state, Islam has remained the religion of the overwhelming part of the population.
More than 96 percent of the West Asian country’s people are Muslims.
