Alireza Ghorbani, head of the Olympiad’s secretariat, told IQNA that 790 Quran memorizers and reciters from seminary schools affiliated to the international university have participated in the competitions.
He added that the holy city is hosting the competition for 77 Quran memorizers and 246 Qaris participating in Tarteel as well as 53 others in Tahghigh recitation of the Holy Quran.
Ghorbani said that the competitions in the memorization category of the Olympiad were held on November 22 and the participants in Tahghigh and Tarteel categories will compete on November 23, 24 and 25.
The competition for female participants will be held on November 26 and 27 at Bent-ol-Huda Institute.
Torkaman and Abedi are members of the judging board of the male competitions in Tajweed category and Dehdashti, Mohammadi, Hakimi and Mo’tamedi will respectively supervise Sowt, Lahn, Waqf and Ibtida and memorization principles.
The judges in the female competitions in Sowt, Lahn, Tajweed, Waqf and Ibtida and memorization categories are Foruqi, Izadi, Ezzat Pazhuh and Adibzadeh.
