Yazd to Host Nat’l Quran Contest
--A national Quran competition is slated to be held on March 3, in Yazd province, center of Iran.
Mohammad Reza Fallahzadeh, governor of the province, told IQNA that the contest will go on for five days with the aim of developing the Islamic culture.
“Some 340 individuals including men and women are expected to attend the event and compete in various categories”.
He said that a large number of Quran activists, top reciters, translators, and teachers will be honored during the contest.
Hojat-ol-Islam Sadughi, Supreme Leader’s representative in Yazd, also talked to IQNA stressing that such events will pave the way for building a Quran-based society as well as making people further acquainted with the concepts of the Divine Book.
Regarding Yazd province as a cultural city and birth place of many religious figures, he urged officials to take major steps towards fostering the culture of the Quran all across the country.
