UK to Host 14Th National Qur'an Competition

The Amal Trust organization of UK and the Ministry of Awqaf of Qatar are going to hold the 14Th UK National Qur'an Competition.
The will be held on the 26th and 27th May 2012 at The Islamic Cultural Centre of London.
The competition is divided into the following categories: 30 Juz of the Qur'an, 20 Juz of the Qur'an, 15 Juz of the Qur'an, 10 Juz of the Qur'an and 05 Juz of the Qur'an.
The competition is open to everyone under 25 years of age, male and female and the winners of each group will catch Umra packages.
The Amal Trust (Light of the Youth – LOY) is a youth organization established in 1997 to help the wider ethnic minority communities, irrespective of their nationality, race, ethnic origin and religious beliefs, to access educational, social and recreational services that had hitherto been out of reach.
Today in the UK, young people from all backgrounds are faced with many challenges from negative aspects of the society. These include: crime, family breakdown, drugs, poor education, racism, religious discrimination etc. Therefore it is vital that the above issues are addressed appropriately to create a generation of young citizens who will contribute towards the future prosperity of the nation.
