‘Religion in Mirror of Art’ Int’l Conference Opens in Hamedan
The International Conference ‘Religion in Mirror of Art’ began in the western city of Hamedan on Tuesday, April 10.
It opened at Islamic Azad University of Hamedan with a message by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
The president in his message, which was read out by governor of Hamedan province, hoped that the conference would be a turning point in elaborating and expounding on the role of art in religion and human and social relations.
He said an art that originates from the artist’s innate appreciation of the truth tries to manifest a fraction of the beauty of that truth.
President Ahmadinejad stressed that such an art could help to alleviate humanity’s sufferings and flourish thoughts and ideas.
He further urged art geniuses to use their artistic talents to promote the lofty human principles and values.
Scholars and thinkers from different countries such as Italy, Egypt, Algeria, Sweden, Malaysia, Russia, Germany, India, Scotland and Switzerland have come to Iran to participate in the conference.
