Islamic medicine, which emphasizes prevention of diseases before there is a need for cure, is the quickest and most effective path to reaching health, an expert said.
In an interview with IQNA, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Mohammad Siyadati added that the Quranic verses and Hadiths from the Infallible (AS) about health, which form the basis of Islamic medicine, recommend maintaining health and prevention of diseases before need for cure arises.
He said this is the main distinction between Islamic medicine and other schools of medicine.
Hojat-ol-Islam Siyadati regretted that enough attention is not paid to Islam’s recommendations about maintaining health.
He urged the media to provide a link between Islamic medicine experts and people so that Islam’s teachings about health would spread in society.
The scholar also called for more cooperation and interaction between seminaries and universities to promote Islamic medicine.
Islamic medicine refers to medicine developed based on the Quran and the teachings of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).
