Nasrallah A Unique Character
Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah is a unique character and few personalities can be found who are successful in both political and religious realms like him.
This is according to Muhammad Al-Barjawi, former representative of Hezbollah in the Lebanese parliament, speaking at a forum organized by IQNA on Sunday to discuss the character and thoughts of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
He said Nasrallah went to Najaf and was influenced by great figures like Ayatollah Mohammad Baqer Sadr and other thinkers at the seminary of Najaf. “He then returned to Lebanon and managed to become a powerful leader in political and religious fields.”
Al-Barjawi stressed that Nasrallah’s character has various aspects and in order to know his character well, all these aspects should be discussed.
Hassan Ruyvaran, the political and international affairs deputy of the Society for Defending the Palestinian Nation, another speaker at the forum, praised Nasrallah’s role in Hezbollah’s victories against the Zionist enemy and said the Zionists’ retreat from Southern Lebanon in 2006 was a great accomplishment made possible due to Nasrallah’s leadership.
He added that Nasrallah, through his judicious leadership has managed to bring many changes to the conditions in Lebanon and the region.
Also speaking at the program was Mohammad Ali Mohtadi, an expert in Middle East affairs, who described Nasrallah as a powerful leader, a teacher of morality, and a competent politician.
He said Nasrallah is a popular leader in the Islamic world because of his Ikhlas (pure intention), Tawakkul (trust in God), and modesty.
Another speaker was Mohammad Irani, former Iranian ambassador to Lebanon and Jordan, who described it as very difficult to talk about a character like Nasrallah, “ as we all know that he is the honor of the Muslim Ummah and that his entire life has been spent on the path of God.
“This great leader has been a student of Imam Khomeini’s (RA) school. He raised the idea of resorting to resistance in order for upholding national unity in Lebanon and doing away with tribal and sectarian clashes.”
Middle East Affairs expert Mohammad Ali Muhtadi in this forum described Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah as a teacher of ethics, a powerful leader in the war against Israel and an efficient politician who is popular in the Islamic Ummah due to his purity of intention and putting his trust in God.
He stressed that Nasrallah’s special planning in the various wars with Israel brought about victyroy for Hezbollah.
The forum concluded with a speech by Head of the Iranian Students Quranic activities Organization Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Mehdi Taqavi who said a great character like Nasrallah should be a role model for Muslims.
He stressed that there are few personalities today who can be at the pinnacle of power and still maintain their good characteristics.
Hojat-ol-Islam Taqavi went on to say that today there is need for such personalities as Nasrallah who has a steadfast and great character.
