Swiss Priests Learn More about Islam
In a two-day congress, Swiss priests get familiar with Islam’s major principles and teachings.
The congress is slated to be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 17-18, in the city of Saint Nicolson.
Organized by the Islamic Research Section of the Swiss Priests Conference, it will seek to enhance the priests’ familiarity with Islam. The congress will also look into the position of Muslims in Swiss society and ways for improving relations between Muslims and Christian in the Central European country.
Representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations, Religious Unity Association and a number of research institutes will also participate in the congress.
Over 300,000 Muslims live in Switzerland making up about 4 percent of the total population.
