Kuwait Int’l Quran Contest Wraps up

The closing ceremony of the 3rd international Quran competition in Kuwait was held today, April 18.
The ceremony was attended by ambassadors from different countries, including Iranian ambassador Ruhollah Ghahremani Chabok.
This is according to Shahram Salamati of the Iranian Cultural Center in Kuwait City.
He said memorizer of the entire Quran Mohammad Javad Mohammadi Majd and Quran reciter Reza Golshahi represented Iran in the competition.
The 3rd international Quran competition, called Kuwait Award, began last Wednesday, April 11, with the participation of contenders from 50 countries (including 4 non-Muslim states).
It was held in categories including memorization of the entire Quran, recitation, Tajweed and the Best Technology for Serving the Holy Quran.
The jury panel of the contest was made up international Quran experts Saeed Aqil Al-Munawar from Indonesia, Muhammad Falaj Mundkar from Kuwait, Othman Bin Muhammad Sediqi from Saudi Arabia, Sayyed Ali Abdul-Hamid from Egypt, Abdul-Rashid Bin Sheikh Ali Sufi from Qatar, and Samih Ahmed Asamana from Jordan.
