Support for ISESCO's Course Urged

At opening session of 9th Islamic Conference of Information Ministers Stressing importance of supporting (ISESCO Course to Train Journalists and Broadcasters in Addressing Stereotypes about Islam and Muslims in Western Media)
Mr Mustapha Al Khalfi, president of the Eighth Islamic Conference of Information Ministers, Morocco’s Minister of Communication and Government Spokesman, today at the Conference’s opening session in Libreville, Gabon, called for introducing (ISESCO Course to Train Journalists and Broadcasters in Addressing Stereotypes about Islam and Muslims in Western Media) into journalist training institutes in the Muslim world.
The Conference’s president stressed that the course is a practical, professional tool that provides Muslim world journalists with techniques to address negative stereotypes about Islam and produce alternative images. The course is academic and professional in approach, enabling trainee and practitioner journalists and broadcasters to counter Islamophobia and stereotypes about Islam in western media, Mr Al Khalfi added.
