The most important goal for mankind according to the Holy Quran is attaining a lofty status that words fail to describe, and that is the status of Ghurb (closeness and proximity to God).
This is part of a message by Ayatollah Mohammad Taqi Mesbah Yazdi to the third Festival of Iranian Students’ Quranic Studies.
In the message, which was read out by Mojtaba Mesbah Yazdi, Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi underscored the need for employing the teachings of the Holy Quran in life.
He described the Quran as the most precious gift from Almighty God to His servants, saying “if there had been anything worthier than the Quran, God would not have withheld it from His last messenger and if there had been any better, more useful, and more healing prescription, the Almighty would not have denied it to billions of men.”
Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi noted that the Quran has been revealed for guiding and leading mankind and contains the truths that he needs for achieving perfection and salvation.
Elsewhere in his message the Ayatollah said the Quran shows the Straight Path to perfection and cautions against those ways that lead man astray.
He urged that everyone should do his best to precisely recognize the right path to salvation as clarified by Divine messengers, especially the last prophet of God and his Infallible Household (AS).
