The University Jihad Organization follows its activities by putting two important issues, namely purification and knowledge, high on agenda.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of Iranian Students Quranic Studies Festival held on April 23 at University Jihad's Art and Culture Research Center, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Mahdi Taghavi, secretary of the festival and head of the Iranian Students Quranic Activities Organization, said that the festival has made significant improvement compared to its three previous editions.
“The first edition was held based on grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli’s book Asrar-o-Salat (Secrets of Prayer), while the second edition was organized in more categories including Short Message Service (SMS) and scientific projects featuring grand Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani’s book “the Prism of Shia Doctrines,” he added.
“‘False Mysticisms was the topic of the third edition of the festival based on a selection of Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi’s book “In Search of Islamic Mysticism” that was prepared and published in 5 chapters by the Organization for Iranian Students Quranic Activities.”
Hojat-ol-Islam Taghavi went on to say that 320,000 students registered in the festival and 17000 participants took an examination on March 5, adding that “those who could not make it can participate in the next round which will be held during the Book Week.”
Also, Mohammad Hossein Yadegari, head of University Jihad Organization highlighted the role of University Jihad in promoting the Quranic culture, noting: “The center’s activities are all in line with the lofty teachings of the Quran and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) and aimed at acquiring spiritual knowledge and refinement.”
A video clip was also screened in the ceremony, showing the academic achievements and successes of Science and Culture University, an affiliate to University Jihad Organization.
The ceremony concluded with honoring the winners in each category, best institutions cooperating in organizing the festival, a number of Jihad cultural managers as well as other collaborating centers and organizations.
An artistic exhibition featuring Quranic themes was also held on the sideline of the ceremony at University Jihad's Art and Culture Research Center.
