Supreme Leader Congratulates Iranian Wrestling Squads on Victories in 2013 World Cup

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei congratulated the Iranian freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling squads on their victories in the 2013 Wrestling World Cup.
In a message issued on Friday night, Imam Khamenei expressed hope that the Iranian youth would be successful in all fields, particularly in the area of sports.
The Iranian freestyle wrestling team won the gold medal with a 6-1 victory against Russia in the final at Tehran’s Azadi Sports Complex on the last day of the event on Friday.
The Iranian Greco-Roman wrestling team also reached the finals but had to settle for a silver medal after losing to Russia on Wednesday.
The 2013 Wrestling World Cup opened in Tehran on February 19.
Ten countries -- Iran, Russia, the United States, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Japan, Belarus, Bulgaria, and Turkey -- competed in the tournament.
