Director of Tunisia’s Al-Junubiya TV highlighted the role of media in enhancing Islamic unity.
Speaking during a meeting with Iranian Cultural Attaché in Tunis, Kamal Bin Yunis added that the Islamic media should work together to introduce the potentials of the Muslim world to others.
He regretted that some of the media in the Muslim world seek to fan the flames of religious discord and sectarian differences.
Bin Yunis referred to confronting Zionism as a principle that should be upheld by anti-oppression media in the world.
Iran’s Cultural Attaché Ramezan Golafzayi for his part underlined the need for the Muslim world media to produce programs that promote the spirit of freedom.
The media ought to enhance the belief in the Muslim Ummah that they can reach the peaks of progress by relying on the principles of independence and freedom, he said.
Golafzayi also voiced Iranian media’s readiness for cooperation with Tunisia’s media based on bilateral agreements.
The Al-Junubiya TV network has been established by a number of Tunisian merchants with the aim of serving the objectives of Tunisia’s revolution.
