Workshop for Imams of Mosques Underway in Kazakhstan

An educational workshop on Islamic teachings has been held for the imams of mosques by the Office for Muslims’ Religious Affairs in Almaty, the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to IQNA’s branch in Central Asia, the city’s Grand Mosque has been hosting the program since April 3.
Ershad Ongarov, head of Islamic Dissemination Section of the religious office stated that such educational programs will result in the promotion of Islamic and Quranic knowledge of preachers.
Importance of issuing Fatwas (religious verdicts) in Islam, how imams of mosques should treat worshippers, principles of Islam, Islamic psychology and jurisprudential issues have been among the themes discussed at the workshop.
Religious intellectuals and preachers from all over the country have participated at the educational program, which will conclude on April 19.
