The examinations of the national Quran Memorization Plan in the school and regional stages will be held in May.
The examinations are aimed at assessing the progress of the participants in learning the Holy Quran’s verses by heart.
The plan is being held for the second consecutive year by the Education Ministry’s Quran, Prayer and Etrat Department.
Last year, 3.5 million students had signed up to take part in the plan and this year 200,000 more joined the plan.
Students who successfully pass the exams in the school and regional stages will qualify to take part in the provincial stage.
Those who manage to get to the national stage and pass the examination will receive a certificate of memorization of the Holy Quran.
The plan is part of efforts in response to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei’s call for training 10 million memorizers of the Quran in the country.
