Over 40,000 Britons Have Converted to Islam
According to the latest report by the group “Faith Matters”, over 40,000 people in Britain have embraced Islam in the past decade.
In the year 2011 alone, 5200 British citizens converted to Islam, letempsdz website reported, adding that most of the new converts are women.
A study by the Fatih research group shows that nearly two-thirds of converts to Islam are young.
Lack of spirituality in the British society and the spread of anti-religious actions and immoral behavior in the West have been cited as reasons for the conversions.
25 percent of the new converts have said that they have faced difficulties after converting and that others have ridiculed them for what they wear and how they act as Muslims.
The report also shows that in the past ten years, the number of those embracing in Britain has risen by 80 percent, which is a significant figure.
