Tehran’s interim Friday prayer leader said the Islamic Awakening prepared the ground for Muslim scholars to confer to find ways for confronting disunity.
Hojat-ol-Islam Kazem Sediqi made the remark in his second sermon at the University of Tehran Campus on Friday, adding that disunity and sectarian discord are harmful to the Muslim world.
He referred to the International Conference of “Islamic Awakening and Ulama” set to be held in Tehran next week, saying that Muslim Ulama (scholars) should work together to boost Islamic unity.
The senior cleric also stressed that the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution is the leader of Islamic movements and that the Muslim world pays careful attention to the guidelines set by Imam Khamenei.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Hojat-ol-Islam Sediqi referred to the upcoming presidential polls in the country and underlined that all elections held in the Islamic Republic of Iran have been free and fair.
He warned that anyone who might seek to sow discord either before or after the elections is betraying the religion, the nation, the blood of martyrs and the country’s progress.
The senior cleric also stressed that the candidates and their supporters should know that no one is above the law and no one is allowed to pass the redlines set by the law.
In his second sermon, Tehran’s interim Friday prayer leader also pointed to the birth anniversary of Hazrat Zahra (SA) and extended felicitations on the auspicious occasion.
