Spokesman of the Majlis’ National Security Commission said the US uses desecration of sanctities as a tactic for sowing discord among Muslims.
Seyyed Hossein Naqavi-Hosseini told IQNA that extremist groups that defile sacred places are actually the agents of the United States.
He referring to a Thursday incident in which Wahabi extremists desecrated the grave of Hujr ibn Adi near Damascus, Syria, saying that the west has been slapped in the face by Islamic beliefs and that is why it seeks to attack Muslim sanctities.
Naqavi-Hosseini warned that such moves by extremists intensify sectarian differences. “That is why we consider these acts (desecration of sanctities) as American acts.”
He also warned that the United States’ supporting extremists will backlash and it will see for itself the result of its behavior.
