New Colonialism, West’s New Approach toward Muslim World
The West’s new approach toward the Muslim world is new colonialism, an Algerian author said.
Speaking to IQNA, Samira Bentourki Saeidi added that Islamophobia is a means used by the West to plunder the energy wealth of Muslim countries.
She said since the 9/11 incidents, the United States has employed Hollywood and other media to launch a propaganda campaign against the Muslim world.
“The reason why after every terrorist attack Muslims are always accused of being behind it is the growing power of Muslims. Today, Muslims have control over great energy resources and hegemonic powers are willing to do everything to get their hands on these resources.”
According to Ms Saeidi, the United States was forced to abandon the Vietnam War under pressure from public opinion. “Hence, the US government has learned a lesson from that war and that is it should prepare the public opinion for what it intends to do. The American government kills its people and then puts the blame on people from countries it wants to invade.”
She underlined that the Western media belong to those who are not willing to tell the truth. “The owners of the media and press in the West are the same people who own weapons factories and military industries. Thus, they care more about war and violence than peace and security.”
The Algerian author and documentary filmmaker pointed to the recent bombings in the US city of Boston, saying “The first thing that came into my mind when I heard about this incident was ‘What are the Americans up to against Muslims again?
“In two of my films ‘The Media, the Armies of Evil’ and ‘Media of Mass Destruction’ I have pointed to the means and tactics used by colonial powers to plunder Muslims’ wealth. Iran is one of the countries they (the West) are plotting against and the upcoming presidential election in Iran is one of the scenes that require caution on the part of the people in order not to allow sinister interferences by countries like the US.”
She said the Boston incidents are clearly related to the plot to intensify Islamophobia. “But as God says, ‘They devised, and Allah devised, and Allah is the best devisor’ (Quran, 3:54), their efforts is in vain and God’s will supersedes theirs.”
