While French President Francois Hollande completed the first year of his four year term in office yesterday, Muslims in France are not happy with his administration.
According to a reported by Saphirnews, Muslims are discontented with the growing anti-Islamic activities and heavy silence of Hollande and his officials over the spreading Islamophobia.
In fact, measures introduced by Hollande and his administration against Muslims have angered the country’s Muslim population.
These include passing laws to ban Hijab in kindergartens and sports centers as well as establishment of a committee to supervise laïcité (secularism).
While the Anti-Islamophobia Committee in France has reported significant growth in Islamophobic acts in the country during the first three months of 2013, Hollande and his government have done nothing to stop this trend and remained silent over the repeated attacks against mosques and Islamic centers.
The French government’s military intervention in an Islamic country in Africa (Mali) and its development of ties with the Zionist regime are among other thing that have made Muslims dissatisfied with Holannde’s conduct.
France is home to the largest Muslim minority in Western Europe as Muslims making up 10 percent of the population in the country.
