Insight, Steadfastness, Two Main Requirements for Quranic Community
Head of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization said Basirat (insight) and steadfastness are the two main required characteristics for the Quranic community.
Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Mohammadi made the remark on Sunday, May 12, while addressing the conference of “Quranic Society, Basirat, Missions and Harms”.
He elaborated on different dimensions of insight and underlined that having insight is necessary in all aspects of life.
“Having insight before, during and after doing any action is necessary and many people have failed to achieve ultimate guidance because of lacking insight in these three stages.”
He further quoted the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei as saying that “we are proud to be the flag-bearers of the Quran in the world in the contemporary era”, and said the Quranic community, including reciters, memorizers and teachers bear the flag of the Quran.
Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammadi said being a flag-bearer on this path requires both insight and steadfastness because there may be some who know the path well but get tired in the middle of the path and get deviated from the true path.
Organized by the Iranian Academics Quranic Activities Organization, the conference of “Quranic Society, Basirat, Missions and Harms” is underway at the Sizdah Aban Cultural-Student Complex in Tehran.
It began on Sunday morning in a ceremony attended by Head of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Mohammadi, Quran and Etrat Deputy of the Culture Ministry Hojat-ol-Islam Hamid Mohammadi, managing director of IQNA Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Mehdi Taqavi and a large number of the country’s Quran activists.
The conference features papers in four main categories, namely “Quranic community, characteristics and functions”, “Quranic community and political insight”, “Quranic community as source of reference in Islamic societies”, and “Reciprocal role of government bodies and Quranic community”.
