According to the media department of the Umamh Wahida International Union, these programs will be held in 15 major Asian cities, including Seoul, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Kabul, Islamabad, and Tehran, on the Day of Nakba (catastrophe, the anniversary of the day on which the exodus of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in 1948).
The programs will include mounting photo exhibitions, holding seminars and conferences, staging rallies in front of United Nations offices, and highlighting the issue of Palestine in Friday prayer sermons.
In Tehran, a ceremony will also be held on Tuesday, May 14, at the University of Tehran’s World Studies Faculty with the participation of activists who support the cause of Palestine.
The focus of the programs this year will be on the Palestinian refugees’ right of return to Palestine. Therefore the motto of all of activities this year will be “People Want the Return of Palestinians to Palestine”.
Meanwhile the Global Campaign for Return to Palestine has also announced plans for holding programs on May 17 in over 100 cities around the world in support of the Palestinian cause.
