Preliminary Stage of Quran Contest Held in Senegal

The preliminary stage of the national Quran recitation competition in Senegal was held to select the best reciters qualified for the final stage.
According to lesoleil website, this stage was hosted by the city of Fass Toure and Moustapha Kebbe was selected as the representative of Luga region.
Moustapha Dieng and Sokhna Mame Diarra Ndiaye came second and third, respectively.
The preliminary stage in Luga region was held at Serigne Sam Mbaye cultural center by the region’s scientific society in cooperation with the Islamic Welfare Organization.
Organizers have said they were happy with the high quality of the competition and urged for the development of Quranic education in the region, where there are 1200 Quranic schools.
Senegal’s national Quran recitation competition is to be held in the next few months in the capital city of Dakar.
