The statute of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s International Quran Competition has the most perfect and precise statute.
This is according to veteran Quran activist Habib Mahkam who also told IQNA that Iran’s competition is the greatest Quran contest in the world.
“I attended Saudi Arabia’s Quran competition in 2004 along with three other Quran memorizers (from Iran). I had several copies of the statute of Iran’s Quran contest in Arabic, English and Persian with me which I gave to the Saudi organizers. They were supervised at how very carefully the statute has been designed.”
Mahkam said many veteran Quran activists worked for drafting the statute and put a lot of time and efforts in it.
Pointing to the jury members of Quran competitions, he said in other countries most of the jurors are elderly but in Iran, thanks to the Islamic Revolution, the younger generation has made so much progress in Quranic fields that most of the Iranian jury members in Quran competitions are young.
He, however, said the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, which organizes major Quran competitions, should make use of the experiences and expertise of the veteran Quran activists in these competitions.
The Quran veteran, who has cooperated with the organization since 1981, went on to say that the Islamic Republic of Iran’s International Quran Competition, held by the Awqaf Organization, is the greatest Quran contest in the Muslim world.
