Organizers of Int’l Quran Competitions Convene in Kuwait

The third convention of organizers of international Quran competitions has started in Kuwait’s capital city.
Representatives of 30 countries attended the gathering that began on Sunday, June 9, Kuwait News Agency reported.
It has been organized by Kuwait’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.
The participants in the gathering exchange experiences in organizing international Quranic events and discuss ways to improve the quality of these events as well as the quality of judgments.
Abdullah mehdi Barak, representative of Kuwait’s Awqaf Ministry at the opening ceremony said in the past years, organizing international Quran contests in the different Muslim countries has been on the rise significantly.
He said the gathering has been organized to promote coordination and cooperation among the officials in charge of organizing these contests.
The first and second convention of organizers of international Quran competitions had been respectively held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
