50 Countries to Attend ‘Spring of Martyrdom’ Int’l Festival
Over 50 countries are expected to attend the 9th Spring of Martyrdom international festival in Iraq.
The cultural festival is to kick off Wednesday, June 12, in the holy city of Karbala, Blaadnews website reported.
It is organized by the custodian of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine with the motto of “Imam Hussein (AS); Best Role Model, Best Call”.
Sayyed Aghil Abdul-Hussein Al-Yaseri who heads the festival’s information dissemination committee said delegations from various Muslim and non-Muslim countries have travelled to Iraq to attend the festival.
He referred to Iran, Indonesia, Cameroon, Senegal, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, China, Russia, Norway, Belgium, Morocco, Algeria, Turkey and Sudan as some of the participating countries.
He added that the participants are from among the top religious, social and cultural figures, scholars and thinkers, literary personalities, etc.
Spring of Martyrdom international festival will have different programs including an exhibition of books and CDs featuring martyrdom.
