Dr. Shehzadi Pakeeza, In-charge of Islamic Studies Department and Ms. Farhana Mehmood, Lecturer were the judges of the competition.
“Qiraat is part of our religion and Naat is part of Islamic tradition in Subcontinent,” said Dr. Pakeeza addressing the students.
She advised the students to follow the teachings of Holy Quran as it is the best panacea for all crises in present situation and hoped that the practice of recitation will be fruitful in their life.
The Inter-departmental Qiraat Competition, organized by the University for the first time, was well-received the staff and students.
The result was announced by Radio Producer, Ms. Rouqia Khursheed, according to which Maida Zafar from Software Engineering Department secured first position, Ammara Qamar of Communication and Media Studies Department succeeded to achieve second position, while Hafza Asma Khan of Islamic Studies Department achieved third position.
Speaking at the occasion, In-charge Campus Radio VoW Dr. Shamim Zaidi said the basic aim of Qiraat Competition is to involve the students in healthy activities.
She lauded the efforts of Radio team for holding such events which gives an opportunity to students to exhibit their talents.
