The Al-Mustafa International University in a statement denounced the killing of 4 Shia Muslims by Takfiri Salafis in Egypt.
It said that Salafism and Wahabism are part of the enemies’ scenario for spreading division and sowing the seeds of discord among Islamic schools of thought.
Part of the statement read: Since long ago, the followers of the school of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) have lived in peace and harmony with their brethren from other sects. However, some treacherous hands have attempted behind the scenes to sow discord among Muslim sects in order to secure their wicked objectives.
In the latest example of Takfiri Salafis’ crimes, Allameh Sheikh Hassan Shehata and four other true Muslims have been martyred by theTakfiri Salafists in Egypt. When a Muslim is attacked anywhere at any time, is it not an obligation for other Muslims in the world to stand up and defend the rights of the oppressed one?
What is the responsibility of Islamic governments here? What responsibility does the government of Mohamed Morsi feel about the martyrdom of Allameh Shehata? Is silence over these tragedies acceptable?
The Al-Mustafa International University’s statement called on Muslims all over the world to properly respond to the perpetrators of such tragic events. It also said the rulers of Muslim countries are responsible for protecting the lives of every member of their nation.
It went on to urge human rights organizations and Islamic bodies to defend the rights of Muslims all over the world and prevent attacks on the lives and properties of the true followers of Islam.
