More Deadly Bomb Attacks in Iraq

Twenty-three people have been killed and dozens others injured in several attacks across Iraq, according to Iraqi security and hospital sources.
All of the deadly incidents occurred on Tuesday.
In the northern city of Tuz Khormato, two bombers detonated explosives near Turkmen protesters who had set up tents, killing 11 people and injuring 42 others.
Among the dead were two Turkmen leaders, Ahmed Abdel-Wahed and Ali Hashem Mukhtar Oglou.
According to Ali Abdul-Rahman, a spokesman for the Salahuddin provincial governor, the protesters were demanding better security for the Turkmen following recent attacks on the community.
"Protesters were gathering near the coffin of a man who died of serious injuries from a previous bomb in the town, when suddenly a powerful blast hit the protest tent, throwing people away," said a policeman, who was also injured in the attack.
"I saw some people hugging bodies covered with blood and crying in grief," the policeman added.
In another attack, gunmen fired shots at a bus carrying Shia religious tourists from the town of Musayyib to the town of Iskandariyah, killing five people, according to police and hospital officials.
The incident occurred about 55 kilometers (35 miles) south of Baghdad.
In the al-Amin neighborhood of southeastern Baghdad, gunmen in a speeding car fired on a church, injuring three guards, according to police officers.
In the Zafaraniyah neighborhood of southeastern Baghdad, a minibus was bombed, leaving three passengers dead and five others injured, according to police and hospital officials.
In the northern city of Mosul, a bomb exploded in a teashop, killing four people and injuring 15.
The incidents are the latest in a string of attacks across Iraq that have left more than 2,000 people dead since the beginning of April.
On June 24, at least 42 people were killed and dozens injured in ten car bomb attacks.
On June 23, eleven people were killed in several attacks.
On June 22, twenty-four people, mostly Shia Muslims, were killed and many others injured.
On June 19, thirty-one people were killed in two coordinated bomb attacks inside and near a Shia mosque in Baghdad.
And on June 16, fifty-one people lost their lives and many others were injured in a spate of attacks across the country.
