Iranian Qari Ranks 2nd at Int’l Quran Contest in India

Mohammad Amin Asadi, Iranian Qari from Sanandaj, Kurdestan Province, won the second place at International Quran Recitation Competition in India.
Talking to IQNA, the Quran reciter said that he began learning to read the Holy Quran’s verses when he was a 10-year-old child and has practiced Quran recitation since he was 23 years old.
He said that a Quran activist should act upon Quranic teachings so much that such teachings manifest in every aspects of his life.
Quran activists have a great responsibility to be a good role model for their society and to disseminate Quranic teachings, he added.
The international Quran recitation contest in India was held on June 13 with participants from Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Qatar, Bangladesh and India.
Abdul-Wahhab from Egypt and Sheikh Hussein from Iraq were the first and the third rank winners of the competition respectively.
