Quranic Contest Underway in Kabul

A Quran recitation and memorization contest is underway for the youth on the sidelines of “Spring of Quran” Exhibition in Kabul, Afghanistan.
According to IQNA’s branch in South Asia, Abbas Hasanzadeh, executive director of the exhibition said that the competition includes the categories of recitation, Tarteel and memorization of the entire Quran.
The Quran Hall of the exhibition has been hosting the contest since July 22, he said.
Nationally and internationally known Quran reciters and Tawasheeh groups also hold Quranic programs in the hall.
Like previous years, the exhibition, which displays Quranic and Islamic sciences works and Quranic arts, is offering various programs to encourage teenagers and the youth of the country to read and contemplate the Quran.
Best recitation of the Quran, Tarteel recitation and memorization of one to six Juzes (parts) of the Holy Quran were the other contests held at the exhibition.
40 male and female participants competed in Tarteel contest and the memorization competition was attended by 60 male and female Quran memorizers.
The Quranic contest will continue until July 24 and the winners will be awarded at the closing ceremony of the exhibition on July 25.
